PHOTOS OF TODAY'S MARKET

Albenga has always found its squares to be a natural meeting point : vibrant spaces, thronged with people, goods, and everyday stories. It's no coincidence that one of the city's most authentic traditions has its roots right here.

As early as the 19th century, farmers from the plains would arrive in Albenga with crates full of freshly harvested produce, giving rise to the first farmers' markets. This custom became a ritual over time: from the 1950s onwards, the market enlivened Piazza delle Erbe, while Piazza Corridoni hosted the wholesale market and, later, the retail market.

Today, this long history continues in Piazza del Popolo , a new hub for those seeking quality, seasonality, and authentic flavors. From Monday to Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Farmers' Market brings together local farmers who sell directly what they grow: fresh, authentic, and seasonal fruit and vegetable products from the Albenga plain.

Shopping here means bringing the authenticity of the region to your table and , at the same time, concretely supporting local agriculture . A simple, everyday gesture that says a lot about Albenga and its profound connection to the land.

A unique experience to learn about local agricultural products, taste them, and bring them to the table.
