Welcome to Albenga.
What you are about to begin is the Green Route : a broader itinerary than the Blue Route, designed to accompany you in the footsteps of Saint Martin of Tours and help you discover the iconic places of his presence in the city.
This journey was born thanks to the European project NewPilgrimAge and the work of the International Institute of Ligurian Studies, which reconstructed and documented the presence of Saint Martin in Albenga and on Gallinara Island , where the saint spent a period of his life.
The route has 19 stages : stops that will guide you step by step not only to discover the medieval towers, squares and churches, but also the deeper history of the city and its connection with the island.
The journey is designed to be followed independently: thanks to the map and the in-depth information available at each stage , you can choose whether to read the contents or listen to them in the form of audio narrations , created with the voices of the readers of the APS #Cosavuoichetilegga .
