The imposing eighteenth-century building, which arose from the incorporation of some medieval houses, formerly the seat of a historic college and now the civic library, houses, on the first floor, the permanent exhibition “ Magiche transparenze. The glass of the ancient Albingaunum " : a priceless treasure composed of over one hundred glass objects, datable between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD, coming from distant geographic areas, often with rare or even unique shapes, found in Albenga in the necropolis Roman. The extraordinary blue plate from the beginning of the 2nd century stands out above all, decorated with an intaglio with a figurative scene.
