Albenga is preparing to transform into a large garden and open-air play area.
From April 4 to May 3 , 2026 , "Fior d'Albenga" returns for its 23rd edition, with a theme that unites nature, creativity, and imagination: "Fior d'Albenga – Play Blooms. Unleash Your Imagination." This edition will bring an original and engaging story to the historic center, where flowers and aromatic plants become tools for play, discovery, and connection, transforming squares and urban spaces into surprising settings designed for all ages.

Fior d'Albenga is an event celebrating the agricultural and floricultural heritage of the Ingauno region, transforming the historic center into an open-air garden. Themed flowerbeds , immersive experiences , cooking demonstrations , talks , and entertainment bring to life a contemporary narrative of scents, flavors, and knowledge, where flowers become the common thread throughout an experience that engages visitors, families, and industry professionals.

For the 2026 edition, from April 4th to May 3rd , Fior d'Albenga draws inspiration from the world of play, transforming the flowerbeds of the historic center into thematic installations that recall board games , logic , imagination , and interaction . The flowerbeds thus become the common thread running through the entire event: spaces to observe, walk through, and experience, capable of engaging diverse audiences through an immediate and universal language. Alongside the theme of play, the edition's transversal concept is mix: an element that unites different worlds and creates new experiences.

As every year, the flowerbeds in Largo Doria and Piazza San Michele will be created by the Fior d'Albenga Association and will have the theme “Buildings and Bricks” , while the second flowerbed in Piazza San Michele will be looked after by the Municipality of Diano Marina as part of the “Aromatica” event.

Every weekend Fior d'Albenga comes alive with:

  • Workshops for children
  • Traveling readings
  • Flower and typical products markets
  • Shows and entertainment

Throughout the Fior d'Albenga period, some of the city's restaurants will prepare dishes inspired by the "4 d'Arbenga" (thorny artichoke, purple asparagus, trumpet courgette and oxheart tomato), aromatic herbs , edible flowers and "De.Co." products .

At the same time, photographers from the Circolo San Giorgio will present the photography exhibition "Obiettivo fiorire" (Objective: To Bloom) , a competition dedicated to the theme of flowers and local agricultural businesses, told through 45 shots that interpret blossoming in all its forms. The photographs will be displayed in numerous businesses in the city of Albenga.

This year, the event boasts the valuable participation of the Chamber of Commerce of the Ligurian Riviera , a partnership that has allowed us to further expand the offering to tourists, citizens, and visitors, with collateral events and guided tours of farms, gardens, and botanical gardens.

This year, you can also vote for your favorite flowerbed, thanks to an initiative by the ITIS Galilei technical institute in Campochiesa.

The official inauguration will be held on Saturday, April 4th, starting at 10:30 a.m. in Piazza San Michele. Following this, "Albenga on the Table" meets "Fior d'Albenga," with a cooking demonstration and a stand featuring agricultural products from the Giancardi Galilei Aicardi Institute. At 11:30 a.m., the awards ceremony for the "Obiettivo Fiorire" photography competition organized by the Circolo Fotografico San Giorgio will take place, followed by numerous other events to discover.
