Italian Absolute Youth Championship XCO City of Albenga MTB

From Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd June, Albenga will host the Italian youth cross country MTB championship, confirming its role as the capital of youth mountain biking within the Albenga Active June Edition that the city dedicates to outdoor sports.

The suggestive Campochiesa track, already the scene of the first stage of the Italia Bike Cup in March, will welcome the best young Italian athletes who will compete to win the 8 tricolor jerseys reserved for the categories Esordienti and Allievi, male and female. Many names are expected: from Davide Quattrone to Irene Righetto, passing through Walter Vaglio, Gioia Raimondo and Mariachiara Signorelli.

The event, promoted by UCLA 1991 with the patronage of the Municipality of Albenga, will involve hundreds of girls and boys from all regions of Italy. A true celebration of sports that will take place over three days.

Friday 20th June

Inaugural ceremony with the traditional parade of regional representatives, starting at 6:30 pm from Via Martiri della Libertà to Piazza San Michele.

Saturday 21st June

Day dedicated to official tests on the route.

Sunday 22nd June

Race day with the following program:
9:00 am 1st year beginners
10:00 am 2nd year beginners
11:00 am Female Rookies
12:00 pm Female students
2.15pm 1st year students
3.30pm 2nd year students

At the end of each race there will be the awards ceremony and the official wearing of the tricolour jersey.
