City of Albenga Cup

March 6-7-8, 2026
It's now a tradition for the city of Albenga to welcome the biggest names in mountain biking, many of whom choose the XCO Coppa Città di Albenga as their first high-level debut in preparation for the World Cup and major title events. Last year, the Ligurian race saw the triumph of multiple Olympic and World champion Nino Schurter, the Swiss rider in the final year of his incomparable career.
From March 6th to 8th, Albenga will be the protagonist: the senior races will be on Saturday, while the youth races, valid for the Italian club championship and the amateur ones, will be on Sunday. The XCO Coppa Città di Albenga will also be the second stage of the Italia Bike Cup , the international circuit that brings together the main cross-country events on the Italian calendar.
The race will take place on the Campochiesa permanent trail, which has become an icon of Italian mountain biking, popular with enthusiasts year-round. The circuit is 4.8 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 83 meters, featuring many technical sections that require excellent riding skills.
Plan
- The races start on Saturday at 9:15 with the Juniors (the only Italian stage of the UCI Junior Series)
- The Under 23 test is on Saturday at 11:15am
- Saturday at 1.15pm all women's categories
- The men's Elite race is on Saturday at 3:15 pm
- The amateur test on Sunday at 9:00
- Sunday The races for beginners and students start at 10.15am.
Registration is now open, with a cost of €30 for the senior and amateur events and €10 for the youth events. The organizing club's website also provides information on how to find affordable accommodations. Albenga is ready for another major event dedicated to fat tires, one that will be talked about even beyond the national borders.
Information
The competitors will tackle the permanent circuit, now famous even beyond national borders, with its 4.8 km and an altitude difference of just 83 meters but many technical difficulties that will certainly make for a selective race.
